Updates, front and back.

As you probably haven’t noticed, I’ve updated wordpress to the latest version, after putting it off for ages. I haven’t updated it since I got wordpress back in July ‘08 (a whole year, in fact). The update makes it easier for me to upgrade plugins- it’s automatic now. And the whole admin side of the site is a lot nicer too. Not only does it look nice, but it handles well and is easier to navigate. So, if you’re reading this and you have an out-of-date wordpress blog, go backup your stuff then update!

A more obvious change is the switch back to the default wordpress theme- only difference being I’ve changed the header from blue to red. I never realised it, but my old them didn’t allow for replying to comments (which kills any discussion on my posts), nor stacking comments into pages. This became pretty crazy on my Nyan Nyan Remix page, where I’ve got most of my comments. So I’ve changed back to the default theme, if only for the functionality. I’ll tweak it some, see if I can get custom graphics and whatnot to make it look nice. I’ll also get rid of the categories thing, cause I only use tags now.

Edit- actually, scrap the default theme, I’m on the hunt for a better one.

Also, I’m finally working with my recording equipment some more. I’m in the process of recording some songs I made with my band- the disappearance of our awesome practice space has left us without a way to get together and make songs. So I thought I’d start recording them by myself, partly so I don’t forget them, and party so I can show the band what the song in my head sounds like. So expect some blog posts with music tagged to them, but also the rock tag!
