The Moorlough Shore
I stumbled upon the acapella for this song on looperman, and found the vocals really interesting- I’m part Irish myself and love the Irish culture, especially the music. Well, originally it is a Scottish folk song, but the Irish adapted the melody for another song, and Nabil Khazzaka sung this with an Irish accent so it’s ok :)

It was interesting working with new material, quite different from my other stuff. It was tricky to do Nabil’s vocals justice!

Tetris Friends
I’m a bit addicted to this website at the moment- Tetris Friends. It’s the official company who made the original Tetris, but they’ve updated it with tons of different game modes, and surprisingly good multiplayer. Very good fun, and a quality made game.
Go check it out!

Solar Beams
Another song? Indeed, I surprised myself when I zipped straight back into making this new song straight after Occultus. I was feeling pretty energised and the creative juices were flowing, so why not capitalise on it?
I’m really proud of this one, especially the melody. Even if the song did come out a little bit more techno/trance than I imagined.
Maybe I’ll have all the tracks for my 2nd album quicker than I anticipated!

Occultus
Finally! I actually finished a song for once. I’ve been working on many little ideas, but haven’t followed them through to an end product.
This song is a bit shorter than my others- I’ve been looking back and realised I tend to make songs too long. The song name comes from the Latin for hidden, because there’s hidden potential in all those little FL Studio files- occasionally they turn into a full song like this. Shame I don’t have the attention span to do this more often :P

Also, this will be my 11th official song! So it will be starting a new album – I plan to compile every 10 songs into an album. I used the very best of my creative juices to come with the new album’s name…. Kaburorne II. At least it makes sense. I’m excited to hear what I come up with for the rest of this album- as of today I only have the skeleton for the 2nd song.
Enjoy Occultus :)

Updates, front and back.
As you probably haven’t noticed, I’ve updated wordpress to the latest version, after putting it off for ages. I haven’t updated it since I got wordpress back in July ‘08 (a whole year, in fact). The update makes it easier for me to upgrade plugins- it’s automatic now. And the whole admin side of the site is a lot nicer too. Not only does it look nice, but it handles well and is easier to navigate. So, if you’re reading this and you have an out-of-date wordpress blog, go backup your stuff then update!

SOUR ‘日々の音色 (Hibi no neiro)’
Not really my sort of music, but I love the quirky syncronisation of all those people’s webcams!

Ogre Kingdoms Giant
This is a model I got as a birthday present years ago, but I never built it because I had way too many models on the go already. Now I’m getting back into painting Warhammer, this looked like a fun model to paint. You can use the giant in a few different armies, there’s a ton of extra bits to add on and customise the model. That was really fun choosing whether he should be holding a cow and a terrified villager in his hands, or throwing a tree trunk etc, as well as adding a squashed goblin just under his foot (I forgot to add that!). It looks like they had fun designing the model- I had fun making and painting it.

Alton Towers!
My good friends Alex and Mario came round last week to go to Alton Towers with mum (cause she’s the only one who can drive… yet). It was super fun, and we had a great time going on all the rides. As we went in July, it wasn’t as busy as the peak time in the summmer holidays. But, as we had all finished our GCSE exams before everyone else, we could beat the crowds, and we definitely beat the queues.I think we must have done at least 30 rides over the 3 days, possibly more- which is considerably more than the time Alex went to Thorpe Park in the height of the summer season and got on 4 rides in the whole day!

Year One
Just a quick note to say I saw Year One yesterday. It was good- I’d give it a 6/10. It loses points cause I thought the plot was a bit strange (they keep changing from being a slave, then they’re guards, then they’re slaves again… etc), but most of the jokes were funny (with exceptions for crude toilet humour…) and the actors played it well.
It was a funny mess of biblical stories, such as Cain and Abel, but with a casual, modern twist. It was rather funny seeing all these people from the bible talking with a modern vocabulary.
I’d recommend it, it’s quite a dumb film, mashing random parts of history together- but that’s why it’s good.
